Did you know that a deer takes their first steps after half an hour of birth? At first their steps are wobbly, but as they grow up their legs get stronger, and they are able to run with great speed. Because of their fascinating speed, they can escape from their predators. They can also jump really high over big rocks and fallen trees. Deers are also very graceful animals, and they can climb steep hills without stumbling.

A prophet named Habakkuk uses the example of the deer to help us understand that God is our Helper. When we love God and are eager to be His followers, God will give us the strength to run away from troubles. When we are constantly in fellowship with God and continually dwell on His word, we will have the strength to run away from the temptations of sin. We, as Christians, must put living for Christ first in our lives. Let us all try our best to come away from the temptations of the world, but we must turn to God for strength to run like a deer when sin wants to try to take advantage of us.

Habakkuk 3:19

The Lord Almighty is my strength.

He makes my feet like those of a deer.

He makes me walk on the mountains.
