Before Moses died, he appointed his most trusted aide to be the leader of the Israelites. Joshua led the Israelites to the first city to conquer -Jericho. It was a very fortified city, and Joshua sent spies to the city to get intel. One person that the spies meet was called Rahab. She heard what God had done for the Israelites, and she also believed that He was the true God. Rahab in turn helped the spies hide from the soldiers. Because of her kindness, Israelites allowed her and her family to be the only survivors out of Jericho.

We must learn that if we have faith in God, He will bless us and protect us. Just like Rahab believed that the God of the Israelites is the true God, we must learn to trust in the power and perfection of our Holy Heavenly Father. Because Rahab had faith in God, she was blessed by being in the lineage of Jesus and being the great-great-grandmother of King David.

Joshua 6:17

The city has been claimed by the Lord. Everything in it belongs to the Lord. Only the prostitute Rahab and all who are in the house with her will live because she hid the messengers we sent.
