We all have evil desires, and we cannot ignore them. In order for us to follow the Holy Spirit’s guidance, we must deal with them decisively. These desires include obvious sins such as witchcraft and sexual immorality. They also include less obvious sins such as hatred, jealousy, and selfish ambition. Those who ignore such sins or refuse to deal with them reveal that they have not received the gift of the Spirit that leads to a transformed life. The Fruit of the Spirit is the spontaneous work of the Holy Spirit in us. The Spirit produces these character traits that found in the nature of Christ. If we want the Fruit of the Spirit to grow in us, we must join our lives to his. We must know, imitate, remember, and love him. As a result, we will fulfill the intended purpose of the law – to love God and your neighbor as yourself.

Galatians 5:19-23
19 Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, 20 idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, 21 envy,[a] drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do[b] such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.
