What is the greatest problem in America today? Is it ignorance or apathy? One time a student answered, “I do not know, and I do not care!” That statement sums up the problem in America. Many of us are ignorant and apathetic about truth – but not when comes to tangible earthly treasures such as money or medicine. We care passionately about these things. But many people are ignorant and apathetic about truth in religion and morality.

Are those who have developed the “whatever” theme of the culture right? Or does truth in religion and morality really matter? It really matters.

How do we know truth really matters?

1. Many people may believe that truth in morality does not matter until someone is treating them immorally.
   • For example, they may claim that lying is not wrong, but just watch how morally outraged then get when you lie to them. Just think about how much better the economy would be if everyone told the truth. There would be no scandals or scams. There would be not burdensome and tedious government regulations. Of course the economy is very important, but it is directly affected by morality!
   • Morality is the base behind everything we do. It not only affects us financially, but, in certain circumstances, it also affects us socially, spiritually, physiologically, and even physically.
2. Success in life is dictated by an individual’s moral choices in life.
   • These include choices such as children,drugs, money, sex, marriage, and bushiness negotiations. Some choices can bring prosperity; others result in ruin.
