There was once a Syrian general named Naaman who was proud and respected by others. One day Naaman got a raging case of leprosy, and every day it was getting worse. Naaman had one Israelite servant girl who told him that there was a prophet named Elisha who could help him. Naaman traveled to Elisha’s house, but Elisha did not come out to meet him – instead Elisha’s servant came and greeted Naaman. He told him to dip himself seven times in the Jordan River. We must realize that the Jordan River was very filthy and muddy, so Naaman could be thinking that this was peculiar. Naaman was forced to obey and when he did what Elisha’ servant told him he was healed of all his leprosy. Sometimes we can be Naaman. We will ask God for help, but when God gives instructions we think our ways are better. But when we put our pride aside and follow the plans God has for us, we will be rewarded and anointed by the Holy Spirit so we can tell others about Him.

So he went down and dipped himself seven times in the Jordan, according to the word of the man of God, and his flesh was restored like the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.
