In verse twelve, Pauls goes to Troas because of the opportunity that God had provided.
In verse thirteen, Paul talks about finding his brother Titus. Titus was a Greek convert whom Paul greatly loved and trusted. Titus was one of the men responsible for collecting the money for the poverty-stricken Jerusalem church. On his way to Macedonia, Paul was supposed to meet Titus in Troas. When Paul didn’t find him there, he was worried for Titus’ safety and left Troas to search for him in Macedonia. There Paul found him, and the good news that Paul received led to this letter. Paul would send Titus back to Corinth with this letter.
2 Corinthians 2:12-13
12 Now when I went to Troas to preach the gospel of Christ and found that the Lord had opened a door for me, 13 I still had no peace of mind, because I did not find my brother Titus there. So I said goodbye to them and went on to Macedonia.
