In verses eight through twelve, Paul reminds us that though we may think we cannot go on, there is always someone watching out for us.

Even after Cain killed his brother, God told him that he would never give him a temptation or trial he could not handle. Our perishable and finite bodies are subject to suffering and sin, but God continues to watch over us.

Because Christ has won the victory over death, we have eternal life. All our risks, humiliations, and trials are opportunities for Christ to demonstrate his power and presence through us. Like Paul, we must carry out the ministry God assigned to each one of us. Whenever there might be opposition, slander, or disappointment that tries to rob us of our victory, we must remember that no one can destroy or hinder the path and purpose God has for each and every one of us.

In Philippians, Paul states that God who began a good work in us will bring it to completion at the day of Christ.

2 Corinthians 4:8-12
8 We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; 9 persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. 10 We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body. 11 For we who are alive are always being given over to death for Jesus’ sake, so that his life may also be revealed in our mortal body. 12 So then, death is at work in us, but life is at work in you.
