In verse five, Paul explains how the Spirit gives us assurance.

The Holy Spirit is God’s guarantee of what will come. His work in our lives each and every day assures us that the healing process will be thoroughly completed in Christ’s presence. Each time the Holy Spirit reminds us of Scripture, convicts of sin, restrains us from selfish behavior or prompts us to love.

We have the Spirit within us beginning the transformation process. Whether we deal pains or disabling limitations, we must be able to trust God that his total renovation of our body and soul in the process.

2 Corinthians 5:5
5 Now the one who has fashioned us for this very purpose is God, who has given us the Spirit as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.
