Unreality is one of the greatest dangers in the pursuit of the life of victory. Because many do not face up to reality, they lost faith in the concept of living victoriously.

But the promises of God do work whether or not you believe in them—if you get your faith from God’s Word and not from sermons of pastors who teach false doctrine.

“Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of Christ” (Romans 10:17)—and not from the testimonies of wicked men.

At the same time, we should not seek after unrealistic standards of holiness. Stick to the balance dictated by God’s Word. Be careful that you are not deceived by them.

You must ask the Holy Spirit to give you the discernment between spiritual power and soul-power. True spirituality is manifested in humility, graciousness, and love.

There are followers of Christ as well as followers of the Pharisees in the best of churches—and you must be discerning so that you don’t mingle with the wrong crowds. Do not overstep your bounds and judge—but discern and avoid them.
