This is directed to anyone in academics, but I will relate it to college because I’m a college student. In college, you must try and find the balance between spirituality and academics for God is the one who has ordained both. He has not ordained that we spend all our time reading the Bible and attending meetings, but that we spend the major part of our time in secular, early occupations—whether working in an office, studying for college, or looking after the home as parents. So, you cannot glorify God by merely going to many Christian meetings—if that is going to lead to you neglecting your studies and getting poor grades. Do your best in classes—for that is the best way you can glorify God for the amount of the Lord’s money that has been invested in your education there. You cannot expect results beyond the level of your intelligence—and God himself does not expect that either. But he certainly does expect you to work hard at your studies. Don’t think in order to be an amazing Christian you must attend every Christian meeting and every conference at your church. Always be balanced in your approach to all this.
