It is good for us to refresh on some facts about Satan. In any spiritual battle, knowledge of the enemy and of his tactics will always make the battle easier to win. Here are some important facts to know about the enemy of our souls.

1. The Deception of Satan – He deceived Eve, by making her doubt God’s love and Word, and finally destroyed her and made her destroy her husband too. Beware of the smooth speech of the attractive serpent.
2. Methods of Satan – Satan tempted Jesus in the wilderness by giving more importance to bodily needs than to God’s Word, pressuring him to do something spectacular in the name God to get honor, and finally offered life’s treasures if Jesus would bow down to him. Satan offers us also many luxuries of this world in order for us to compromise our beliefs and commitments.
3. Why hasn’t God destroyed sin? – Because God wants to use Satan to test us and strengthen our spiritual muscles, just like Job. 
4. Origin of Satan – The highest of the angels became proud of his intelligence, position, and beauty. He was dissatisfied with the boundaries God drew for him and rebelled against the ultimate authority of God.
5. Defeat of Satan – He has been rendered powerless through Christ’s sacrifice on the cross, and now he will flee at the very mention of Jesus’ name.
