The moral of the Evagelism Explosion story is that complete skepticism or agnosticism is self-defeating.

Agnostics and skeptics say truth cannot be known but then claim that their view is true. But they cannot have it both ways.

We have established that truth can be known, and, in fact, it is undeniable.

Can’t all religions be true? Unfortunately, the secular world and even some church pastors struggle to answer this question.

All religious beliefs cannot be true because may religious beliefs are contradictory – they teach opposites.

For example, Muslims believe that non-Muslims are headed for hell. Hindus generally believe that everyone, regardless of beliefs, is caught in an indefinite cycle of reincarnation based on works. And conservative Christians believe that those who have not accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior have chosen hell as their ultimate destiny.

These contradictory beliefs certainly cannot all be true. In fact, world religions have more contradictory beliefs than complementary ones.

The notion that all religions teach basically the same thing – that we ought to love one another – demonstrates a major misunderstanding of world religions.

While many religions have moral codes demonstrating God has implanted right and wrong into our consciences, they disagree on virtually every major issue.

For example, Christians, Muslims, and Jews believe in different versions of a theistic God, while most Hindus believe that everything that exists is part of an pantheistic, impersonal force they call God.

Another famous one is Christians believe that people are saved by grace while other religions, if they believe in salvation, teach some kind of salvation by good works.

These are just a few of the many essential differences among major world religions.
