King Nebuchadnezzar had a strange dream. He had a dream that there was a mighty tree, but then he heard the voice of an angel tearing down the tree’s leaves and fruit but leaving the stump. The next morning the king asked his wise men to interpret the dream, but they could not. Then the king called in Daniel to interpret the dream. Daniel said that the tree is the king, and the king will be forced to live among the wild animals until he realizes that God almighty is the ultimate ruler, not him. A year later the king walks on his balcony overseeing his vast kingdom and develops pride in his heart because he thinks that he is better than God and gets mentally confused. After seven years of confusion of living like a wild animal, God clears the king’s mind and gives him back his kingdom when the king started praising God instead of himself.

No one is greater than God. Even ruler and authority figures are under His power. God hates people who are prideful and self-centered. Even when God allows people to do great things, God is always the one that deserves the praise. Let us as Christians never be prideful and remember that all the gifts and talents that we possess is from God.

Daniel 4:25
You will be driven away from people and will live with the wild animals; you will eat grass like the ox and be drenched with the dew of heaven. Seven times will pass by for you until you acknowledge that the Most High is sovereign over all kingdoms on earth and gives them to anyone he wishes.
