In verse twelve Paul explains that sin entered the world through one man and death through sin. How can we be declared guilty for something Adam did thousands of years of ago? Many people feel it is not right for God to judge us because of Adam’s sin. The answer is simple. Just like Adam, we are filled with the sinful nature, which makes us prone to disobey God just like Adam. As sinners, we cannot expect God to follow our justice system and our own terms. Because we are sinners, it is not fairness we need, but we need mercy.
