Posted by Jonathan Merigala Paul founded the church in Corinth on his second missionary journey. Eighteen months after Paul left, arguments and divisions arose, and some of the church members returned back to their immoral way of life. Paul wrote these letters in order to address the problems about what is right and what is wrong. The Corinthian people had a reputation of jumping from one religion to another. In verse ten, Paul uses the term “brothers” to emphasize that all Christians are part of God’s family. Believers, from all around the world, share a unity that runs deeper than that of any blood relation.
1 Corinthians 1:10
A Church Divided Over Leaders
10 I appeal to you, brothers and sisters,[a] in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought.
