Once again, I personally wish everyone a blessed New Year.

When we look back in the past year, we see that we learned a lot in scriptures, increased our prayer time, above all there is a unity in the body of believers, and we made an impact in the community. God have graciously given us another whole year—another chance to understand Him and His love.

This church was founded upon the mission to equip believers and non-believers with the Word of God and have it integrated into our lives so that we stay true for Jesus’s second coming. Let this church not just intellectually educate you of Biblical stories, but empower and challenge you to live a holy life in God’s sight.

Rather than passively going over each Bible stories, which most of you know and everyone can do on your own, my upcoming sermon series will focus on characters within the Bible. We will focus on all dimensions of the characters: analyze their strengths, weaknesses, their purpose for being in the Bible, the consequences and blessings of their choices, and how they affected others. We will learn how God’s sovereignty through these individuals’ lives not only changed them but also the community around them.

With that being said, I have few humble requests: 

• Do not neglect Monthly Prayer Meetings as we are here to pray for each other and across the needs of the people. This is what God wants in the community: that each of us stand for each other.
• Please discipline yourself to come to church on time. This gives reverence to God as He is waiting to commune with you, just as a Groom awaits His bride.
• Take more time to reach out to others who haven’t heard about Jesus and show them the path of Salvation. Keep a goal to introduce one family a month so that they may also enjoy God’s mercy. More than it being our church’s vision, God will reward you for following His command to reach out (Matthew 28:19-20).

Everyone of us want spiritual growth but are you actually taking the initiative to seek the truth?

Whenever I share messages in Whatsapp, I implore you to read them. I post them so that we may get a better understanding of the scriptures before we dive deeper into it on Sundays. I ask that you join me in the journey of learning the Scripture in a whole different angle. My family and I, as your pastor, are here to help you and edify you in your spiritual journey. If you all are truly growing spiritually, what more can we ask for?

Also, for Sunday School, GGC’s vision is to equip kids in the God’s Word. Instead of teaching kids just stories as done traditionally, we want to teach our kids to not only learn the stories of the Bible but also learn how to study the Bible and defend their beliefs in midst of hedonistic worldview. They are our future, the next generation. And it’s imperative that we equip them in the Word of God. I want Sunday School to not just be not fun but also engaging to help them live godly lives.

Therefore, join us this Sunday—reach out, be equipped and pray together.
