Posted by Jonathan Merigala The fullness of the Holy Spirit is not a matter of mere emotional excitement. Unfortunately, many people are satisfied with just that. But what you need is power to live in victory and be a bold witness for Christ. We must seek for that continuously.
Jesus said in Acts 1:8, “You shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be my witnesses”. In this verse, Jesus states that the evidence of the fullness of the Spirit is power.
The purpose of the fullness of the Spirit was that we might be His witnesses—not just bear witness to Him but be witnesses—by our life and our words. So be bold to seek the Lord for the gift of prophecy.
Then you will be able to share God’s Word powerfully to others, according to the spiritual need of each person—both privately as well as in church meetings.
To prophesy is to speak to people (publicly or privately) with words that will encourage them, comfort them, and build them up. This is the most important gift of the Spirit that we must seek for.
God wants us to be bold. So drive the spirit of timidity away from you—for that is not from God.
