Posted by Jonathan Merigala In verse sixteen, Jesus declares that He is the Root and Offspring of David. As the Creator of the universe, Jesus existed long before David was ever born. As a human, He was one of David’s descendants. As the Messiah, He is the “bright morning star”, the light to all salvation. In verse seventeen, The Spirit and Bride (the Church) tell people to partake of the fountain of life. Both the Holy Spirit and the Bride extend the invitation to the whole world to come to Jesus and experience the joy of salvation.
Revelation 22:16-17
16 “I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright Morning Star.”
17 The Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let the one who hears say, “Come!” Let the one who is thirsty come; and let the one who wishes take the free gift of the water of life.
