One day while Jesus was preaching, multitudes of people followed Him. Jesus had been preaching and teaching for the entire day, and the people were starting to get hungry. One boy in the crowd had five loaves of bread and two fish. There was no way this little amount could satisfy all five thousand people. But we all know that Jesus is the provider of all our needs; Jesus then took the food and multiplied it. Because of what Jesus did, five thousand people were satisfied with their appetite.

We must learn that no matter what we have Jesus can use it for His glory. We must not covet or desire other possessions of our neighbors. God is our provider, and He will always take care of us. We do not have to be jealous of other people’s property and wealth. Just as Jesus used the little boy’s lunch of five loaves and two fish to satisfy the multitude with their appetite, He will use whatever we have for His glory. It may be big or small, but our God is a God of wonders and He can do anything with any amount of that we have. When we give generously, Jesus can do great things through us.

Jesus then took the loaves, gave thanks, and distributed to those who were seated as much as they wanted. He did the same with the fish.
