In verse seven God states that if we conquer the obstacle on earth, then we will inherit many eternal blessings. In verse eight God lists the types of sinners that will go to the lake of burning sulfur, if they do not turn to Christ. The first type in the list was the cowardly. They are the fearful ones who deny Christ because of the threats of the beast. They fear persecution that they choose temporary protection instead eternal life with God. These type pf people are put in with the sane group of the vile, murders, and sexually immoral.

Revelation 21:7-8
7 Those who are victorious will inherit all this, and I will be their God and they will be my children. 8 But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars—they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.”
