As the Gospel flows through our lives, we will be marked for our meekness. While meekness sounds like weakness, it is actually a strength that is controlled by self-control. It is not necessarily those who are shy, who are the meek. People who are strong outgoing people can be meek when they submit their strengths to God. We can be increasingly meek when we do not fulfill our desires, but the desires of our Heavenly Father. We must be meek because we must stand out as Christ’s followers. Being meek is the total opposite of how the world wants us to act. Jesus said in the Beatitudes that the meek are the ones who will inherit the earth. We must as Christians act like Jesus because despite being the Son of God, he was meek in all things. Let us act meek in thankfulness of all that God has ever given us and let us show the character of Christ out of thankfulness of His redeeming sacrifice.

Matthew 5:5

Blessed are the meek,
