Our adequacy is always from God. He has already commissioned and sent us. He has given us the Holy Spirit to enable us to speak in God’s power. He watches over us, protecting us as we do his work.
So, if we realize that God makes us competent and useful, we can overcome our feelings of inadequacy.
Serving Christ, therefore, requires that we focus on what he can do through us — not on what we can do on our own ability.
2 Corinthians 2:16-17
16 To the one we are an aroma that brings death; to the other, an aroma that brings life. And who is equal to such a task? 17 Unlike so many, we do not peddle the word of God for profit. On the contrary, in Christ we speak before God with sincerity, as those sent from God.
