Posted by Jonathan Merigala We are now at peace with God, which is different from peaceful feelings like tranquility and calmness. Peace with God means we have been reconciled with him. There is no hostility in the relationship, and no sin blocking the relationship. Peace with God is only possible through Christ’s sacrifice. The upcoming verses introduce some difficult concepts. To understand the next four chapters of Romans, it is important to keep in mind the two-sided reality. One hand, we are complete in Christ, and on the other hand were are growing in Christ. We feel the presence of Christ and sin. We still enjoy the peace that comes with salvation, but there will be problems we must face that will help us grow spiritually. Through this process of sanctification, we can learn to depend on the power given to us by the Holy Spirit.
Romans 5:1
5 Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we[a] have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,
