In verse five it states that God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit. All three members of the Trinity are involved in salvation. The Father loved us so much that he sent his Son to be the mediator between God and man. The Father and the Son send the Holy Spirit to fill our lives with love and enable us to live by his power. With all this loving care, how we can be hesitant to obey God’s and his will for our lives. In verse six it states that while we were still powerless Christ died for the ungodly. We were weak and helpless because we could not save ourselves. Someone had to come to rescue us. Not only did Christ come at a good time in history, he came at exactly the right time- according to God’s own schedule.

Romans 5:5-6
5 And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.
6 You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly.
