In this verse, Paul basically explains the same theme as in the previous chapter. In this chapter Paul explains how everyone stands guilty before God. Paul has dismantled the common excuses of people who fail to admit that they are sinners. One excuse is there is no God so I will follow my conscience. Another excuse is I am not as bad as other people or I am more of a religious person. No one is exempt from God’s judgement on sin. Every one must accept the truth that that he or she is sinful before God. Only then we can understand and receive the gift of salvation.
