In verses nine to eleven, Paul talks about the correlation of sin and the law. When there is no law, there is no sin because people cannot know that their actions are sinful unless a law forbids those actions. God’s law makes people realize that they are sinners doomed to eternal damnation, yet it offers no help. Instead as Christians, we must use the law as a mirror. As Christ followers, it i our duty to reflect the very likeness and character of Christ. In the end the more we read and understand the law the more we understand our moral limits and beg for God’s love, mercy, and grace.

Romans 7:9-11
9 Once I was alive apart from the law; but when the commandment came, sin sprang to life and I died. 10 I found that the very commandment that was intended to bring life actually brought death. 11 For sin, seizing the opportunity afforded by the commandment, deceived me, and through the commandment put me to death.
