The central theme of the gospel is given in these verses, a key text for the defense of Christianity.

There are three important points:

(1) Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, Without the truth of this message, Christ’s death would be worthless, and everyone who put their faith in Christ would still be in their sins. Because Christ is the sinless Son of God, he was able to take our punishment and set us free from the bondage of sin. If you read Psalm 16:8-11, we can clearly see that Christ’s death was no accident. It had been part of God’s plan from all eternity in order to bring salvation to those who believe.

(2) He was buried. The fact of Christ’s death is revealed in the fact of his burial. Many religions out there have fabricated conspiracies that Christ was never dead which would denote the resurrection of Christ.

(3) He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures. Christ was raised permanently forever; his Father raised him from the dead “on the third day” as noted in the gospels.
