Posted by Jonathan Merigala This is one of the fundamental facts we should know about our God. He will never give us a temptation that we cannot bear. In a culture filled with such immorality, Paul gives us strong advice concerning temptation. He said:
- wrong desires and temptations happen to everyone, so we must never feel we have been singled out;
- others have resisted temptation which can give us assurance that we can too; any temptation can be resisted because God helps us resist it.
God helps us with our temptations by helping us:
- recognize those people and situations that give us trouble,
- run from anything that we know is wrong,
- choose to do only what is right ,
- pray for God’s help, and
- seek friends who love God and can offer help when we are tempted.
1 Corinthians 10:13
No temptation[a] has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted[b] beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted,[c] he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.
