When becoming a Christian, the Holy Spirit comes upon an individual as a spiritual counselor who assists in the progression of one’s spiritual life.

But we need to see in the verse one that Apostle Paul commands Christians, who already have a level of Holy Spirit anointing, to reach the next level.

When Christians thoroughly involves themselves in the presence of the God, they can attain the next level of Holy Spirit anointing with God’s help.

When Christians receives the second level of anointing, God can give certain individuals spiritual gifts to help further expand His kingdom.

Apostle Paul in this chapter breaks down two of the spiritual gifts and the correct way to utilize them for the kingdom, not for our personal glory.
